Maintenance Planner - HVAC

Overview

We're looking for a Maintenance Planner with HVAC experience to help plan and organize maintenance work for facility and infrastructure systems. This role ensures maintenance jobs are properly scoped, staffed, supplied, and documented before work begins. You'll work closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Procurement teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed maintenance work plans and job packages.
• Define labor, materials, tools, permits, and safety requirements for maintenance work.
• Perform field reviews to verify work scope and readiness.
• Ensure maintenance plans meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate equipment, materials, and contractor resources needed for jobs.
• Maintain and update job plans, equipment records, and documentation in SAP.
• Build and improve standardized maintenance procedures and job plans.
• Track maintenance performance and recommend process improvements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and maintenance effectiveness.
• Capture completed work feedback in SAP to improve future planning.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, steam systems, chilled water systems, and related equipment.
• Experience creating maintenance work plans, including labor estimates, materials, tools, and job sequencing.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and vendor documentation.
• Experience using SAP or a similar CMMS to manage maintenance activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC Journeyperson certification or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of HVAC maintenance experience.
• Ability to obtain a State HVACR License within one year.
• 1+ year of SAP or CMMS experience.
• Advanced SAP experience preferred.

SAP Experience

Candidates should have experience using SAP or a similar maintenance management system for:

• Creating and updating work orders
• Building and maintaining job plans and task lists
• Managing equipment and asset records
• Checking inventory and parts availability
• Supporting preventive maintenance programs
