TITLE: CHEMIST II PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE CHEMIST II

TITLE: CHEMIST II PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE CHEMIST II
- Operate and maintain equipment and participate in the completion of group activities. Group activities include responding to standard requests for chemical analysis whether from the Manufacturing, Technical Services, R&D or from our customers.
- Implement approved plans which outline action to support the achievement of defined department goals.
- Participate in projects and services, within own function, necessary to support the improvement of existing processes.
- Assist in coordinating project results at various stages and implement approved changes in direction as instructed.
- Develop and communicate project results through standard technical reports and memoranda. Maintain complete and accurate records, data books and other required documentation.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Four-year college degree in Chemistry or related science field
- 2 - 4 years of analytical, environmental or process chemistry experience.
- Working knowledge of chemical analysis, standards, methods and practices.
- Working knowledge of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Working knowledge of various software applications including spreadsheet, work processing, graphics and analytical programs.
- Ability to operate a computer workstation and the related hardware and software.
- Ability to operate analytical instruments and equipment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
- Ability to work with moderate supervision, and to work in a production-oriented environment.
- Laboratory skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
