About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7A - 5:30P Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years of IR experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSSTech Must-Have: - Comfortable with all patient types - Moderate sedation - Drip management - Foley catheter insertion, including infants and pediatric patients (will be sedated) - IV insertion Description: TotalMed Interviews - Manager Final Approval. Unit Information: 2 IR suites with an average of 8 patients per day. Will accept first-time travelers. Patient types include mostly adults, with occasional assistance for pediatric patients in MRI or CT. Common procedures include TIPS, Y90s, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, fistulograms/declot, nephrostomy stents/tubes, peripheral run-offs/interventions, IVC filter placements, Pleurx, trialysis/permacaths, pulmonary embolism interventions, Angiojet, EKOS, and coil/chemo embolizations. Neuro procedures include coil embolizations, thrombectomy, carotid interventions, and MMA. Support within the Department includes Lead Tech/Charge RN, transport service, and room turnover support. An IR MD is present during the day and on call at night. Additional support includes Clientist and Intensivist available 24/7, as well as a Rapid Response/Code Team. Technology and equipment used include EMR, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and specific unit equipment such as EKOS and Angiojet. Floating to other radiology areas (e.g., CT, MRI) may be required to assist with procedures. Schedule consists of weekend rotation and on-call responsibilities, with RN on call every 5th-7th day and Tech on call every 4th day, requiring a 20-minute response time. The schedule is created one month in advance and released about two weeks prior. Holiday expectations indicate potential on-call duty for 50% of holidays within the contract. Scrub colors are provided.
