The Neurology Department at the University of Washington invites applications for several faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Clinical Practice, with an anticipated start date of January 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidates will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a twelve-month appointment beginning January 1, 2027.

Assistant, Associate, and Full Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for these positions will be $21,249 - $23,212 per month ($254,988 - $278,544 per year) for the Assistant Professor title, $23,868-$25,948 per month ($286,416-$311,376 per year) for the Associate Professor title, or $26,551-$29,049 per month ($318,612-$348,588 per year) for the Professor title, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

The successful candidates will be expected to support the department's commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and service within a large and welcoming academic community. Successful candidates will join our academic department serving patients throughout Seattle and the five-state Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho region, collectively known as WWAMI.

The role is expected to provide ambulatory general neurology care within UW Medicine. Clinical practice may include the evaluation and longitudinal management of patients with a broad range of neurologic conditions, with opportunities to develop areas of focused clinical expertise according to the candidate's interests and the needs of the department. Faculty will also have opportunities to participate in the department's hospital-based general neurology consultation services. In addition, candidates may contribute to the department's expanding virtual-care programs, including TeleNeurology, providing remote inpatient neurologic consultation to partner hospitals; and eConsults, providing asynchronous outpatient neurologic consultation and guidance to referring clinicians across the state. These virtual-care programs support partner institutions and communities throughout the WWAMI region and are central to the department's mission of improving access to neurologic expertise across a large and geographically diverse service area.

The specific balance of ambulatory, inpatient, and virtual clinical responsibilities will be determined based on departmental needs, and the candidate's preference and experience.

All University of Washington faculty are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications

Applicants for this position must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington, and certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology (or foreign equivalent).
• In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
