Program Evaluation Specialist

Job Summary The Program Coordinator will support the initiatives driven by research projects to engage with communities and implement research outcomes for real-world priorities. The Neurotrauma & Social Impact research team strives towards making research outcomes work towards adoption, implementation and action across scientific, academic, and professional communities. This position is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of community focused initiatives that advance prevalence, diagnosis, rehabilitation, recovery, participation, feedback, and quality of life for individuals impacted by neurotrauma and related conditions. In this context, communities refer to scientific and non-scientific groups. The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with faculty, clinical partners, community organizations, patients and families, volunteers, students, and other stakeholders to develop and sustain programs that bridge clinical, research, education, and community settings. The position requires strong project management skills, the ability to independently manage multiple initiatives, experience engaging diverse stakeholders, and the ability to support strategic growth and program sustainability. The successful candidate is an ambassador for the multidisciplinary research team focused on implementing research outcomes to effect change, with a focus on quantitative assessment of outcome. The position works under general supervision and independently manages assigned activities and projects. Responsibilities* Coordinate the planning, development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation Of community-based programs and initiatives. Support and manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently, adapting priorities and responsibilities based on programmatic needs and emerging opportunities. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, workflows, and other tools to support successful implementation. Identify opportunities to improve program effectiveness, coordination, access, communication, and implementation towards clinical and community-based services. Independently manage assigned projects from development through implementation, including evaluation. Support the development and expansion of new programs and partnerships that advance community engagement and rehabilitation goals. Independence and Scope Works with a high degree Of independence, with expectation to exercise judgment in organizing work, establishing priorities, and advancing assigned initiatives. Manages multiple projects with varying timelines, stakeholders, and levels of complexity. This position does not have formal direct report or personnel-management responsibilities. May recruit, coordinate, and engage volunteers and other program participants as appropriate to support program activities. Works collaboratively with faculty, clinical staff, administrative leaders, community partners, and other stakeholders. Major Responsibilities Community Engagement and Partnership Development - 30% Serve as a liaison among community organizations, including scientists/researchers, academic centers, patients and families, health care providers, and other stakeholders. Facilitate communication and coordination across disciplines and organizations to support integrated, community-centered programs, including conferences, workshops, and seminars. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and other external partners. Support recruitment, engagement, and coordination of community volunteers and other program participants. Represent program initiatives at meetings, community events, and outreach activities as appropriate. Survey, Evaluation, and Data Activities - 10% Develop, administer, and coordinate surveys and other data-collection activities to assess program needs, experiences, outcomes, and opportunities for improvement. Organize and synthesize information to inform program planning and decision- making. Develop reports, presentations, summaries, and other communications related to program activities and outcomes. Monitor program deliverables, outcomes, and performance measures. Grant and Sponsored Project Support - 20% Support the planning, implementation, reporting, and management of grant-funded and externally funded initiatives. Assist with sponsor communications, program documentation, progress reporting, implementation of results, and other activities required to support funded projects. Contribute to the development of materials supporting program sustainability and future funding opportunities. Coordinate project activities to ensure alignment with funding requirements and program objectives. Communication and Planning - 30% Coordinate meetings, agendas, follow-up activities, and communications for assigned initiatives. Prepare materials and presentations for internal and external audiences. Track deliverables, timelines, decisions, and action items across multiple projects. Ensure effective communication among stakeholders and follow through on agreed upon activities. Strategic and Operational Support - 10% Contribute to strategic planning and implementation for new and existing initiatives. Identify, evaluate, and advance opportunities for program growth and community impact. Develop and refine processes to support sustainable program operations. Provide project and operational support for special initiatives based on research team priorities, individual expertise, and emerging opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned consistently with the scope and capabilities of the position. Required Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience coordinating programs, projects, community initiatives, healthcare activities, or similar multidisciplinary work. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate complex activities. Creative solutions primarily using available digital resources. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across clinical, administrative, and community settings. Desired Qualifications* Experience in rehabilitation, healthcare, community health, social services, or a related field. Experience working with interdisciplinary teams, including social work, occupational therapy, and/or physical therapy. Experience with survey development, program evaluation, or quality improvement primarily delivered through digital mechanisms. Experience working with community organizations, volunteers, or patient/community partners. Experience supporting grant-funded or externally funded initiatives. Why Join Michigan Medicine?
