Custodian

Custodian Position

The State College Area School District is looking for custodians to provide students, staff, and visitors with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient educational environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
• Ability to operate all equipment and machinery as required. Equipment to include, but is not limited to, various scrubbing machines, vacuum cleaners, mop and bucket, lawnmowers, tractors, snow and leaf blowers, and hand tools.

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

• Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
• The ability to lift at least 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
• Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
• Requires climbing and balancing.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
• Must be able to work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.

Other Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Ensure that all activities conform to district guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
• React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.

This is a part-time position with the potential to work up to 40 hours per week, paid hourly, working various shifts, and an opportunity to work towards full-time, benefits-eligible openings.
