Bouvé Simulation Center Director

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Clinical Skills and Simulation Education, the Simulation Center Director will oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Goldstein Simulation Center, prioritize and develop innovative lab programming and special projects, and lead the Center’s strategic plan within Bouvé College of Health Sciences. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Goldstein Center Daily Operations (50%) Provide day‑to‑day operations of the Center including organization, scheduling, development and delivery of simulation programming, special projects and research efforts. Coordinate with units regarding programming, scheduling and proper use of Goldstein Center space. Develop and maintain a prioritized calendar of daily/monthly activities each semester. Maintain a simulation case repository, blueprint templates, case review & approval processes, and simulation assessment in compliance with Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) standards. Create and maintain a metrics/dashboard system for reporting center utilization and develop reporting methodology for annual reports. Maintain the Center as a safe, clean, and operational facility. Support Strategic and Programmatic Needs (35%) Manage operational and programmatic needs, including budgetary planning, fiscal/business operations, resources, equipment and personnel/team management. Evaluate, implement and operationalize learning management software for simulation development, offerings, quality assurance, continuous improvement, trainee registration, A/V archiving and accreditation compliance. Procure simulation hardware and technology, oversee contracts and maintenance agreements. Update and maintain website content in collaboration with MarCom, advancement, admissions and other entities. Establish and enforce policies and procedures that promote safe, effective use of the Center. Co‑chair Bouvé Simulation User Group to promote bi‑directional communication between Center and academic units. Recruit, train and support volunteers, technical staff, student workers and other Center employees. Develop policies and usage rates for research supported in the Center and use by parties outside the College. Ensure strategic plan is updated, aligns with institutional initiatives and drives resource decision‑making. Develop and grow partnerships with other colleges and external entities to increase usage and visibility of the Center. Expand AR/XR/VR, digital health and AI application‑based technologies within the Center. Achieve and maintain accreditation by the Society of Simulation in Healthcare. Support Academic and Research Activities (15%) Develop and lead training/professional development sessions on best practices in simulation education for faculty and the Bouvé community. Provide information to support grant submissions. Support active research through access to Center facilities within Bouvé and across colleges. Develop procedures and guidelines for use of the facility to support new and developmental academic programs. Remain up to date with simulation technology and software through professional development and involvement with appropriate conferences and organizations. Participate in philanthropic opportunities, enrollment management events, and visits/tours related to the Center. Qualifications Education and Experience Master's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field. 5–7 years of experience working with educators or a strong record of effective project and organizational/team management. Previous demonstrated experience in clinical care and education is preferred. Required Skill Sets Ability to work effectively in a team environment with healthcare professionals. Knowledge of medical simulation, instructional technologies, medical terminology, human anatomy, physiology and clinical applications. Knowledge of project management theories, principles, practices and processes. Computer proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive). Strong organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication, conflict management skills. Self‑motivated, willing to learn new skills, prioritize work demands and work independently. Ability to coordinate training assignments, tasks and schedules in a collaborative manner while ensuring timely work products. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding job assignments and sensitive issues. Ability to assess situations and adapt to a highly dynamic environment. Ability to ask questions and course‑correct when necessary. Compensation Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 111S Expected Hiring Range: $99,010.00 – $143,567.50. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
