Finance Manager, R&D Discovery Research
AbbVie
Finance Manager supporting Discovery Research leadership in strategic financial planning and analysis across R&D operations. Responsibilities include managing planning cycles, financial reporting, business initiative analyses, and process improvements for a ~$900MM operating budget across eight geographies.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial support for planning cycles and provide variance analysis and recommendations
- Prepare executive summaries, financial analyses, and presentations for senior management
- Manage financial close activities including flash reporting, accruals, and reclassification entries
- Participate in analyses for business initiatives, collaborations, and business development transactions
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements through technology and process optimization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Ten or more years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Strong financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated project leadership from planning through implementation
- Experience building partnerships across matrixed organizations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders without direct reporting authority
