Manager, R&D Capital & RCE Lifecycle

Manager supporting global Request for Capital Expenditure (RCE) lifecycle across R&D at AbbVie's Lake County location. The role coordinates complex capital investment requests from development through approval, designs operating models, and partners with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary business partner for assigned R&D organizations throughout the RCE lifecycle
• Coordinate development, review, submission, and approval of capital investment requests through governance
• Lead complex RCEs through senior executive and Board-level governance when required
• Develop, coordinate, and provide guidance to external RCE-writing resources managing high-volume requests
• Build cross-site relationships and facilitate alignment among Engineering, Finance, Business, and EHS stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, IT, Project Management, Engineering, or Life Sciences
• 5+ years relevant experience in engineering, capital projects, facilities, finance, or program management
• Demonstrated success coordinating complex, cross-functional work in matrix organizations
• Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and facilitation skills
• Experience with capital investments, project approvals, or executive decision processes preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SAP, and business systems preferred
• Experience developing people or managing contractors with focus on quality
