Job Title: Laboratory Technician Job Description

This position requires occasional overtime and prolonged standing, and our dedicated training program ensures you are set up for success. • Adhere to safety protocols.
• Strictly follow SOPs and site trainers direction in training, sample handling, project processing, and documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Sort incoming samples.
• Prepare sequencing templates, including preparation, amplification, and PCR purification.
• Handle washing, biohazardous/hazardous waste collection, and packaging.
• Communicate professionally with customers and other departments via email/phone.
• Assist in purifying sequencing templates and load samples onto sequencing machines.
• Work with automation platforms as needed.
• May require working overtime, weekends, or alternative shifts with advanced notice.

• High School Diploma required.
• AAS Degree or equivalent lab work experience preferred.
• 1+ years of lab work experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; both verbal and written are essential.

• Proficiency in pipetting transfer.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Experience in plating samples and PCR with plasma and bacteria.
• Ability to work with both manual and automation processes.
• Capacity to handle four plates a day initially.
• Experience with overnight sequencing.

Work at an NGS site in a team-oriented environment. The position involves working Tu-Sa from 9 am to 5:30 pm, with the first three weeks dedicated to training M-F from 11 am to 7:30 pm. The role may include alternating shifts and requires a team player who can work independently on swing shifts, overlapping with day shift personnel and managers. Dress code and safety attire are consistent with laboratory standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Plainfield, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Plainfield, NJ.

This position is anticipated to close on Oct 30, 2026.
