System Administrator 2

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a System Administrator 2 to support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT systems across enterprise environments. This role emphasizes mission operations sustainment, including advanced troubleshooting, system monitoring, and maintaining reliable performance across Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will support escalated issues, manage system stability, and contribute to ongoing infrastructure improvements. Key Responsibilities Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution Manage day‑to‑day system operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and updates Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, Ubuntu) Support OS installation, file systems, TCP/IP networking, and software lifecycle activities Troubleshoot system, application, and infrastructure issues across mission environments Utilize automation and configuration management tools (Salt, Ansible) Monitor systems using tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk Collaborate using Jira, Confluence, Git, and Slurm for workload and system management Support performance optimization and capacity planning Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (5 additional years of experience may substitute) Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Administrator in similar environments DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent) Strong experience with Linux system administration, networking, and troubleshooting Experience with monitoring, automation, and scripting tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Ansible, Bash) Requirements U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
