A new restaurant in Fayetteville, NC is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to help lead the kitchen team and contribute to an exceptional dining experience. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a restaurant from the ground up and play a key role in establishing culinary standards and culture.


Position Summary


The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and leading kitchen staff. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to excellence.


Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing all kitchen operations and food production
Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff
Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
Assist with inventory management, ordering, and cost control
Help create and execute menu items and daily specials
Manage kitchen operations in the Executive Chef's absence
Support a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment


Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience required
At least 1 year of experience as a Sous Chef required
Strong leadership and communication skills
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Experience with inventory management and kitchen scheduling preferred
Culinary degree is a plus but not required
Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
