Billing and Collection Specialist - Legal

We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Billing & Collections Specialist to oversee end-to-end client invoicing, e-billing operations, and proactive accounts receivable management. Utilizing SAP Fulcrum, this role collaborates closely with attorneys, administrative staff, and external clients to validate billing arrangements, resolve submission rejections, maintain master rate data, and drive monthly AR collection targets. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, expertise in e-billing portals, and a professional, diplomatic approach to client communication.

Responsibilities

• Billing & E-Billing Management: Lead end-to-end client billing processes for standard and e-billing accounts, ensuring critical revenue data, rates, and special billing arrangements are accurately validated and recorded in Fulcrum to eliminate invoicing delays.
• Pre-Bill & Invoice Processing: Generate monthly pre-bills for legal staff, process rate adjustments, narrative edits, and time transfers, and distribute final approved invoices to billing attorneys.
• E-Billing Submission & Resolution: Upload final e-bills to third-party vendor portals, track file acceptances, and proactively resolve any submission rejections.
• Accounts Receivable & Cash Collections: Proactively monitor and collect on assigned AR accounts to meet monthly and annual revenue goals; prepare collection letters, process attorney-authorized write-offs, and assist with daily deposit creation and cash posting.
• Client Service & Issue Resolution: Research and resolve complex client and internal billing inquiries, maintaining professional communication when discussing outstanding balances with internal legal teams and external clients.
• Process Improvement & Special Projects: Recommend and implement enhanced AR/billing workflows, assist with disbursement/soft-cost entries, and support ad-hoc initiatives for the Billing and Collections Manager.
