Job Description

Job Summary:
The X-Ray Technologist operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body. They are responsible for preparing patients, ensuring safety protocols, and maintaining equipment to deliver high-quality imaging services.

Responsibilities:

• Identify patient service requirements by establishing rapport and explaining procedures to gain cooperation.
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning, immobilizing, and adjusting equipment accordingly.
• Minimize radiation exposure by practicing safety measures, including shielding and beam restriction.
• Maintain radiographic quality by following standards, processing images, and making necessary adjustments.
• Document patient care activities accurately in records, including completing and verifying exams.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of radiology equipment through preventive care, troubleshooting, and inventory management.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid New York State License (L.R.T.) and ARRT certification.
• Graduate from an JCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• Demonstrate competency in diagnostic procedures and excellent communication skills.
• Possess a dependable work ethic and a focus on safety and quality.
• Maintain current regulatory CME requirements and participate in professional development activities.
