Requirements
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) / OR tech credential required
- BLS and ACLS required
- Prior CVOR (cardiovascular OR) experience required
- Scrubbing experience preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
- Willingness to take weekday, weekend, and holiday call as required
- Able to work day-shift schedule and float within the OR as needed

Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile field, instruments, and supplies for cardiovascular surgical cases
- Scrub and assist during procedures such as CABG, thoracotomy, endovascular AAA, valve replacements, and pacemaker cases
- Set up and verify functionality of specialized CVOR equipment before cases
- Assist with patient positioning, sterile technique, and intraoperative instrument handling
- Document case information and perioperative details in the Meditech system
- Coordinate with surgeons, RNs, and CST colleagues to support a small OR team and ensure 1:1 patient care when indicated
- Adhere to facility dress code (light blue scrubs provided) and unit policies

Job Description
This is a 13-week travel assignment beginning 03/16/2026 for a CVOR surgical technologist in Salem, VA. The position supports two OR suites on a day-shift schedule (06:00–14:30) within a small cardiovascular team. The role requires CST certification, ACLS and BLS, and proven experience in CVOR cases. Responsibilities include scrubbing for complex cardiac and vascular procedures, setting up specialized equipment, maintaining sterile technique, and documenting in Meditech. Candidates must be able to take weekday, weekend, and holiday call and work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
