Senior Accountant | Accounting Manager (Growth Opportunity) Schedule: 100% Onsite (Hybrid flexibility available over time) About the Opportunity Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting function for a growing construction and real estate organization. This is a highly visible role where you'll work directly with leadership while supporting a company backed by a multi-billion-dollar investment platform with aggressive growth plans. The long-term vision is to build multiple operating companies under a current platform, with each business ultimately having its own accounting leadership. MUST HAVES

QUICKBOOKS ENTERPRISE DESKTOP EXPERIENCE.

5+ years of accounting experience. Construction accounting experience. Hands-on ownership of the MONTH-END CLOSE process. Experience BUILDING SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and improving accounting processes. Strong account reconciliations and experience closing the books independently.

JOB COSTING EXPERIENCE + FULL OWNERSHIP OF WIP.

Experience partnering directly with bookkeepers across multiple entities. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Comfortable working independently in a small, growing organization. Must be local. No relocation assistance. Responsibilities Own the full month-end close process from start to finish. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Prepare accurate monthly financial statements. Maintain the general ledger. Build and maintain accounting SOPs. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls. Partner directly with bookkeepers across multiple entities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Support year-end audit and tax preparation. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments. Verify invoice approvals and resolve discrepancies. Maintain vendor files and customer billing records. Generate and distribute customer invoices. Monitor collections and follow up on outstanding receivables. Support overall cash flow management. Construction Accounting Perform detailed job costing for multiple projects. Track project costs, budgets, and profitability. Partner closely with project managers on project financials. Assist with Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting. Understand retainage, progress billing, and construction contracts. Support project reporting and cost analysis. Systems & Process Improvement Assist with a future ERP transition to Sage. Recommend process improvements as the company continues to grow. Support accounting across a growing multi-entity environment. Preferred Qualifications Owned month-end close. Built SOPs. Led accounting processes. Managed multi-entity accounting. Worked closely with bookkeepers. Improved accounting operations. Strong construction accounting, WIP, and job costing experience.
