Senior Financial Reporting Manager

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to support the day-to-day accounting operations of their assigned properties. This position will report to the Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities Include:

• Perform month end closing to include preparation and/or review of monthly financial statements, reconciliations and creation of applicable work papers and schedules
• Perform administrative tasks of related to properties including correspondence, license application/renewals, tracking/payment of property taxes and other administrative tasks as they arise
• Review sales tax or accommodation tax returns for properties
• Enter journal entries into accounting systems as necessary
• Monitor bank account balances and weekly payables/check runs
• Assist the accounting department employees as needed or any other assigned duty deemed necessary by supervisor
• Assist with managing system software applications during transitions and initial set-up
• Assist with license application/renewals and tax requirements for the property
• Ensure that the properties adhere to the regulatory and in-house standards and best practices
• Collaborate with Revenue and Operation teams when properties transition to a new POS
• Assist properties with changes to credit card merchant services
• Provide accounting support to properties by answering questions and resolving concerns
• Serve as a liaison to external auditors
• Monitor bank account balances and weekly payables/check runs
• Backup other accountants when necessary
• Miscellaneous tasks that may include scanning, copying, filing and/or storing accounting related document
• Handle special projects as requested by management
• Respond to requests for information from properties and related parties in a timely manner

Required Qualifications:

• College degree
• Understanding of accounting
• Previous financial reporting experience
• Previous experience in hospitality corporate accounting
• Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word
• Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and think logically in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Ability to communicate effectively with personnel and customers at all discipline levels, both written and verbal
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Able to work as a team player in a deadline driven environment with accuracy and organization
Maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers and public

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with M3 Accounting System
• Experience with QuickBooks
