Senior Manager – Kubernetes

Location: Multiple (New Jersey- Basking Ridge, California- Irvine, Florida- Temple Terrace, Georgia- Alpharetta, Texas-Irving, Virginia - Ashburn). Duration: Long Term Rate: DOE USC, GC, GC-EAD, and H4-EAD Preferred.

Job Description

• Lead an enterprise Kubernetes engineering team for the container platform.
• Oversee the quality, and engineering practices of a large team of software engineers.
• Build and foster open, collaborative relationships with peers and the user community.
• Effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
• Develop and Promote great engineering and organizational practices.
• This individual will have a good level of technical expertise and daily hands-on implementation working on a product team developing services in two-week sprints using agile principles.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver sound results.
• This role will be based out of one of the locations listed in the posting. In this role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
• Expertise in large containerized computing environments utilizing Kubernetes with Docker containers for a large IT enterprise wide environment.
• Expertise in VMWare Data Center Build and Management
• Experience in managing CI/CD toolchain products like Jira, STASH, Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, and Jenkins.
• Institutional experience in Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud computing environments including the Integration of compute technologies. This includes knowledge of architecting and engineering large enterprise solutions to achieve cost efficiencies, scaling and availability for a large enterprise environment.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information System, or related field.
• Experience coding in Java, Python, or Go, and at least one scripting language.
• Experience in systems concepts, system administration, and cloud platforms.
• Decent knowledge of containers and container management technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Demonstrated ability to grow and lead large platform engineering teams.
• Experience overseeing the quality and engineering practices of a large team of software engineers building Kubernetes offerings.
• Consistent track record of shaping and executing multi-year technical strategy.
• Demonstrated history of mentoring and growing engineers with varying levels of experience and skills.
• A passion for building diverse teams.
• Experience with data security and governance.
• Experience with data architecture, modeling, and integration.
• Knowledge of API, Microservices, network and security architectures and design patterns.
• Experience with software development, software delivery lifecycle, application modernization, DevOps, Service/Infrastructure as Service and Operations.
• Experience leading and participating in tests to identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands.
• Knowledge of SRE practices and principles to build resilient systems and to provide business continuity.
• Experience with platform infrastructure.
• Experience in systems concepts, system administration, and cloud platforms.
• Managed 24x7 operation-based teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
