The primary focus of this role is providing phone coverage while supporting patient scheduling and delivering excellent customer service. This position serves as a key point of contact, coordinating with patients, nurses, and providers to ensure efficient and accurate scheduling.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing high-quality customer service through phone-based support
• Scheduling patient appointments and coordinating with clinical staff (nurses and providers)
• Answering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriately
• Facilitating patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely and professional manner
• Obtaining and verifying patient demographic and financial information to ensure accuracy and maximize reimbursement
• Explaining departmental policies, procedures, and charges to patients
• Collecting payments as required

Skills for success include:

• Experience with UKG, Cerner, and/or Epic preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to manage high-volume phone activity effectively
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical practices, and insurance processes preferred

Minimum qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to learn and retain medical coding; ICD-10; CPT coding preferred.
• Requires ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
