Patient Service Representative (Largely Remote)

Our client, a Medical Center facility under the aegis of a California Public Ivy university and one of largest health delivery systems in California, seeks an accomplished Patient Service Representative

Position: Patient Service Representative(Job Id - # 3325546)
Location: Brisbane CA (onsite 1-2 times a month); also required to do onboarding onsite
Duration: 6 Months + Strong Possibility of Extension

Job duties:
- Answer incoming calls from patients and provide information, assistance, and support.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers and clinical staff.
- Verify patient demographic and insurance information.
- Document patient interactions, inquiries, and appointment details accurately.
- Follow established call center protocols, including HIPAA compliance, to protect patient confidentiality.
- Handle patient complaints and concerns professionally and empathetically.
- Provide basic medical information and directions to patients as appropriate.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve patient issues.
Soft skills:
Job duties (front desk, back office, PC, admin or call center, etc.): Call Center supporting our Ambulatory Clinical Home Teams
Estimated number of calls per day: Approximately 50+ calls per day
- Education and experience: High School graduate or equivalent with four years related experience; or college degree and 6 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have experience with EPIC/Apex
