Plasma Center Nurse - RN

Job Description We are looking for a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to oversee daily plasma donation operations at our center in Roanoke, VA. In this role, you will work closely with the Plasma Center Manager, Assistant Manager, and Center Physician to ensure that donors are safely evaluated, tested, and treated in accordance with all regulatory and company standards. About the Role As a Medical Support Specialist, you will: Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and screening of serological results. Assess donor reactions, execute medical emergency SOPs, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care as needed. Notify donors of unsuitable test results and refer medical or technical issues to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and work with occupational health/ER for further evaluation. Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and investigate local pandemic threats. Provide center‑level environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support. What You Bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent; graduate‑level nursing education with state requirements. Active RN, NP, or PA license in the state of assignment. Current CPR/AED certification. State‑approved basic IV therapy training. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $33.44 – $45.98 per hour. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and other factors.
