Exciting Opportunity for a Travel RN in Pediatric Intensive Care! Job Description:
- Join a committed team focused on providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit!
- Location: Alexandria, LA - Unit Overview:
- 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
- Ratios: 1:1-2 for premier patient care
- Type of Equipment: Alaris IV pump, Bair hugger, Kangaroo Feeding Pump, Giraffe infant warmer, Ventilators, BiPap, High Flow O2
- EMR: Meditech/Pyxis - Shift Details:
- Night Shift: 7P-7A
- Rotating weekends; potential mixed schedule of days/nights/weekends - Team Composition:
- Night Shift Staff: 1 charge nurse & 1 RN/LPN (varies with census)
- Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Required:
- 1 year of pediatric ICU nursing experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Preferred:
- PICU or NICU experience
- Background in women's health (labor and delivery, ob/gyn)
- Typical Procedures:
- Spinal taps
- Titration of critical drips (sedation/vasoactive/paralytic)
- Sedated MRI
- EKG/EEG/Telemetry
- Port Access & Discontinuation
- Intubation/Extubation - Personality Fit:
- Patient and able to multi-task
- Self-starter and organized - Floating Opportunities:
- Potential to float to NICU (low acuity) or Nursery
- May float to Ob/gyn if qualified - Dress Code:
