Make an impact by supporting young learners’ growth and literacy in a dynamic school environment. Seeking experienced reading specialists to provide targeted instruction within both elementary and K-8 settings. This full-time, onsite contract role spans 35 hours per week, with two immediate openings available. You’ll play a crucial role in driving student achievement and honoring diverse learning needs.
Position Highlights:
- Contract position, starting ASAP and continuing through June 10, 2027
- Serve a varied caseload, including elementary and K-8 students
- Onsite, full-time schedule – 35 hours per week
- Support includes direct instruction, progress monitoring, and collaborative planning with staff
- Zoom interviews for efficient, streamlined hiring
Required Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching certification/licensure
- Reading Specialist certification (mandatory)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting
- Familiarity and comfort working within urban school communities
- Mastery of reading intervention strategies, assessment, and curriculum adaptation
- Ability to create and implement standards-aligned lesson plans with differentiated strategies
- Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
- Reliable transportation to the site
- Up-to-date Pennsylvania clearances (or willingness to complete them)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-impact reading instruction and interventions to diverse learners
- Assess students’ progress and adjust methods to maximize outcomes
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Maintain clear records, track data, and communicate with families when necessary
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
