Job Description
TITLE
Labor & Delivery RN - High Risk

SCHEDULE
Work every other weekend; holidays as needed. Schedule posted every 6 weeks.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Orientation: 36 hours.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3-5 years RN experience in high-acuity, high-pace Labor & Delivery.
- Prefer 5+ years high-risk experience; will consider candidates with 3+ years if high-risk exposure documented.
- Current supervisory references required.
- Must pass clinical review prior to submission.
- Patient ratio experience: 1:1-1:2.
- Certifications: BLS, NRP required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate preferred.
- Charting system: Experience with Epic required.
- Electronic fetal monitoring experience required.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend deliveries and provide immediate newborn care until transfer to postpartum.
- Circulate during C-sections and assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries.
- Conduct immediate newborn assessments, including APGAR scoring, and administer eye prophylaxis and Vitamin K injections.
- Provide basic newborn stabilization and resuscitation.
- Manage high-risk labor situations and work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments.
- Initiate and maintain IVs, including management of magnesium sulfate and insulin drips, and handle hemorrhage management.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Candidates must provide proof of required certifications with submission.
- Proof of current registration required.
- References: Two references covering one year within the last three years (can include Charge RN/Lead).
- Candidates must pass clinical review prior to start.
