The role, a temporary six‑month assignment covering a maternity leave, focuses on performance management, workplace investigations, coaching, and policy guidance. Key Responsibilities Serve as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees on employee relations matters. Conduct and manage workplace investigations involving policy violations, employee complaints, and interpersonal conflicts. Partner with leadership on performance management processes, including coaching, documentation, PIPs, and terminations. Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices to ensure consistency and compliance. Support conflict resolution and facilitate difficult employee conversations. Maintain thorough and confidential documentation related to investigations and employee matters. Collaborate with legal and HR leadership on complex employee relations issues. Identify trends and recommend practical solutions to improve employee experience and mitigate risk. Support additional HR initiatives and projects during the temporary assignment. Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and accessible work environment where all employees feel welcomed, respected, and supported to thrive. Experience & Qualifications 5+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and investigations. Demonstrated experience independently managing performance management and workplace investigations. Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience supporting multi‑state employee populations (preferred). Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (preferred). HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP) is an asset. For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $85,000 - $95,000. The position is a fixed term of six (6) months; compensation will be prorated based on the duration of employment during the contract term.
