Step into a fulfilling role supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the upcoming academic year. This contract position offers a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students while working onsite in a collaborative and resource-rich school environment. The assignment begins August 13th and runs through June 11th, providing the chance to guide children and young adults to reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Holds an Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Deaf & Hard of Hearing, or a valid California Special Education Credential with authorization to teach deaf and hard of hearing students
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Previous experience or a strong commitment to working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Excellent communication skills, creativity, and a passion for inclusive education
- Ability to work onsite; this role is not available as VOCO or Hybrid
Role Highlights:
- Lead instruction and intervention for deaf and hard of hearing students in both individual and group settings
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure students' educational needs are met
- Adapt curriculum and instructional material to foster maximum student growth and accessibility
- Provide assessment, progress monitoring, and advocacy for students across age ranges
- Support individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation
