Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the compliance and quality of parts, assemblies, and materials, particularly within the aerospace sector. This role involves using precision measuring instruments to inspect products and materials, ensuring they meet required specifications.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect Outside Vendor (OSV) parts for compliance with required process, certification, and other documentation.
• Document and report all discrepancies found during inspections.
• Inspect purchased parts, assemblies, accessories, and raw materials for conformance to specifications.
• Examine items for defects in materials and damage occurring in transit.
• Perform in-process inspections and report discrepancies.
• Prepare Inspection Discrepancy Reports (IDR) and input data into the QA database.
• Document acceptance or rejections on the appropriate router.
• Perform source inspections as requested by customers and complete all associated documentation.
• Compare completed products with parts lists, drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications.
• Prepare and complete Detailed Inspection Plans (DIP).
• Perform first article inspections and complete associated documentation.
• Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists.
• Prepare inspection procedure outlines for future reference.
• Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for corrective actions.

Essential Skills

• High School diploma or GED, or completed apprenticeship from an accredited trade school.
• Aerospace experience is required.
• 1+ years of demonstrated experience for Level 1 Quality Inspector
• Minimum five years’ experience of dimensional tolerance inspection (Y14.5) of aerospace products preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret work instructions.
• Strong PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• NADCAP experience is preferred.

Work Environment

The position operates on the 1st shift from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The work environment is dynamic and involves working with precision measuring instruments and devices in an aerospace setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $83200.00/yr.
