Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others. The UCSF Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging provides comprehensive impatient and outpatient services (including diagnostic and body/neuro interventional radiology). These services are offered at 15 sites throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area, with additional growth ongoing. Under the direction of both Radiology leadership this role is responsible and accountable for coordinating optimal, safe, effective and timeline access to Radiology services for patients in UCFS’s inpatient and ED settings. The role will be responsible for supporting outcomes in radiology (turnaround times, scheduling inpatient and outpatient exams associated with discharge escalations) and track metrics/outcomes while aligning key radiology. In addition, s/he/they are responsible for facilitating timely and appropriate communication between the care team and core/support services. Given the visibility and interdisciplinary coordination of this role it will be key for s/he/they to have an active role in improvement efforts. This could include leading, supporting, or serving as a subject matter expert as part of continuous improvement efforts led by Radiology, and/or other departments within UCSF Health. This role needs to have the flexibility to grow and develop with the evolution of the and the strategic direction of UCSF Health. Will be responsible for managing and coordinate care of patients requiring imaging services leading to a proactive approach to patient throughput. This role will be responsible for maintaining in-depth knowledge of throughput practices related to imaging. Will act as a liaison to all other cross-functional operational/clinical departments for adults/pediatrics/network hospitals. This role will also stay up to date on current & future technologies related to imaging & patient throughput. Will be responsible for understanding, implementing and educating stakeholders on current/future tools related to imaging services. Supervises staff involved in providing clinical patient care. Assists in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. May assume full responsibility for the unit in delegated areas and in the absence of the manager. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Minimum of 5 yrs of recent full-time acute critical, Emergency (ED/ER), Procedural (OR, Cathlab), Endoscopy, PACU (Preop, Pre- aesthesia, Recovery) RN experience Previous Supervisory/Lead Experience Demonstrated skills to effectively manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with Radiology services In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards and care delivery, systems, external regulations and internal policies. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions. Strong interpersonal skills for effective information exchange and problem solving with all levels of management and staff, consultants and outside agencies. Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, to convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals. Demonstrated skills to effectively supervise clinicians and to manage the complex workflow and multiple priorities involved with a patient care unit. Experience with Epic/Apex Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel Preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources matters and performance, and to provide input to decision-making on human resources matters. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to safety and infection control policies and procedures. Knowledge of business software and specialized applications and data management systems used in nursing units or departments.
