Experience: Minimum 1-2 years experience as an Athletic Trainer in a high school and/or physician practice setting preferred.

License: N/A

Certifications: NATABOC Certification, BLS Certification

Must-Have: Minimum 21 years of age or older (per state regulations)

Description: Covering local high schools to fulfill contract obligations. Under the supervision of a physician, applies principles, methods, and procedures for managing athletic injuries. This includes preconditioning, conditioning, and reconditioning of individuals who have suffered athletic injuries. Utilizes appropriate preventative and supportive devices. Provides instruction to coaches, athletes, parents, and medical personnel regarding the care and prevention of athletic injuries. Works in school systems and physician or hospital clinics to support patient care. Provides coverage for sporting events as agreed upon by the hiring organization based on a prepared schedule. Covers home contests as determined by the hiring organization, the athletic trainer, and the athletic director. Covers most varsity contests and selected non-varsity contests based on school needs and sport risk. Provides practice coverage for both varsity and non-varsity sports as agreed with the athletic director. Prevents athletic injuries through protective tapings, wraps, and braces. Assists in designing practices to help reduce the incidence of injury. Conducts workshops for staff regarding injury prevention, CPR, injury recognition, treatment, and rehabilitation. Assists physical therapists or physicians by maintaining equipment, changing linens, and aiding with bracing and splinting. Markets the athletic training program within the school district and medical community through promotional materials and media contacts.
