Within a modern 100+ bed acute care hospital, the ICU and ED Nurse Manager oversees integrated Emergency Department and Intensive Care services built for high acuity and rapid response. A bustling ED with dedicated fast-track, resuscitation bays, and trauma-ready rooms pairs seamlessly with ICU settings supporting complex cardiac, neuro, medical, and surgical cases. Standardized sepsis, stroke, and STEMI pathways, along with evidence-based ventilation and sedation protocols, empower the Emergency Services Nurse Manager to champion safe, complication-free care. Streamlined throughput, meticulous infection prevention, and robust incident command preparedness ensure the ER Nurse Manager leads teams that deliver timely, reliable results.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing Emergency Services , the Critical Care and Emergency Services Nurse Manager collaborates daily with a diverse staff. A highly visible leader presence guides staffing and scheduling, daily huddles, multidisciplinary rounds, and regulatory readiness aligned with Joint Commission standards. Key responsibilities for the Emergency and Critical Care Nursing Supervisor include building a high-performing team, developing unit champions, advancing quality/safety metrics, optimizing throughput, and standardizing practice through policies, audits, and data-driven action plans.
