Senior Director, Head of Clinical Development Learning & Center of Excellence

Merck seeks a Senior Director to lead clinical capability development and organizational learning across all therapeutic areas. This dual-mandate role oversees a global team driving clinical data innovation, medical monitoring modernization, and strategic alignment between clinical scientists and operational leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary global team including Directors and Specialists across learning and data innovation
- Establish strategic roadmap, governance, budget, and KPIs for clinical capability development
- Oversee clinical data analytics and medical monitoring innovation initiatives
- Design and execute onboarding programs and technical curricula on medical monitoring and drug development
- Partner with Global Clinical Trial Operations and Clinical Development Standards bodies on alignment
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years hands-on clinical trial design and execution experience
- Proven background in learning and development program design and delivery
- Expertise in technological innovation and digital tool implementation
- Demonstrated track record managing and developing senior leaders
- Deep knowledge of medical monitoring, data analytics, and clinical science standards
- Experience collaborating across global organizational functions and standards bodies
