Waking Watch Officer (Full Time)

Job Description We are seeking reliable and vigilant individuals to join our team as Waking Watch / Fire Marshals supporting residential buildings. This is a critical fire safety role focused on early detection, resident safety, and maintaining a continuous watch presence. Comprehensive fire safety training will be provided, so previous formal qualifications are not essential — the right attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn are what matter most. Role Requirements Conduct regular, systematic patrols of communal areas, stairwells, corridors, and external perimeters in accordance with the building’s waking watch / fire safety strategy. Remain highly alert for signs of fire, smoke, unusual odours, or other hazards at all times during your shift. Raise the alarm immediately and initiate evacuation procedures if a fire or serious incident is detected. Assist residents (including vulnerable residents) during evacuations or emergencies, providing clear direction and support. Monitor fire detection systems, alarm panels, and any temporary fire safety measures in place. Complete detailed patrol logs, incident reports, and handover notes accurately and on time. Maintain a visible, professional, and reassuring presence for residents and visitors. Report any fire safety defects, blocked escape routes, or maintenance issues promptly. Work closely with the on-site management team, fire & rescue services, and other emergency responders when required.
