Corporate Attorney | Bethesda, MD (Remote) – $250K
\n \nLocation/Schedule: Bethesda, MD (Remote)
\nBase Salary: $250K, plus bonuses that have reached about $100,000
\nPractice: Corporate and business transactions. Entity work, commercial contracts, and deals for developers, property owners, and operating companies. Real estate transactions sit in the same office.
\n \nOur client is a Bethesda firm founded in 1979. The book is business transactions, commercial real estate, and civil work for Fortune 500 companies, developers, and middle-market businesses. The billable target is 1,700, and it is soft. A lawyer below it is not a problem unless the gap is large. Bonuses of about $100,000 have been paid on productivity and on the deals a lawyer was on. Several people came from large firms.

- Bill a soft 1,700 hours: The target is 1,700. Being under it is not an issue unless the number is dramatically lower. $250K is the base. \n

- Do large-firm deal work without the large-firm load: Lawyers here came from AmLaw firms. The files are business transactions and commercial real estate. The hour number is not. \n
- Close deals for developers and Fortune 500 companies: Founded in 1979 in Bethesda. Clients include developers, major property owners, and operating companies. \n
- Work Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. matters from one office: Business transactions, leasing, and finance. You are not staffed onto a litigation inventory. \n
What You’ll Actually Do:

- Draft and negotiate operating agreements, purchase agreements, and commercial contracts. \n
- Handle entity formations, joint ventures, and ownership changes. \n
- Support real estate financings and leasing deals when they sit on the same client. \n
- Run a transaction from the first draft through closing. \n
Requirements:

- JD and active Maryland bar (D.C. or Virginia a plus) \n
- 4–8 years post-bar corporate or business transactions — current Associate, Counsel, or Partner \n
- Drafting experience on operating agreements, purchase agreements, or commercial contracts \n
