Job Summary :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Patent Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting patent attorneys and clients through the patent application process. This position entails providing patent prosecution support, managing deadlines, drafting documents, billing, and maintaining filing systems. This role is critical in organizing tasks to ensure priorities are met for assigned attorneys. Top tier training will be provided on USPTO and WIPO efiling systems, patent searching systems, and utilizing our robust systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patent application documents and formal papers.
• Assist with the preparation of responses to U.S. Office Actions.
• Proofread and file patent applications and Office Action responses.
• Correspond with Foreign Associate Counsel.
• Handle incoming mail and email and track deadlines.
• Manage client databases and status updates.
• Respond to client inquiries.
• Use MS Office and other firm applications for tasks.
• Assist with client billing.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of related experience.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) and ability to efficiently learn new software.
• Ability to effectively learn complex processes to navigate critical procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Strong organization skills and an ability to prioritize.
• Willingness to occasionally work overtime if needed.
• Ability to work in the office at least 3 days per week (hybrid).

Education:

• An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered.
• An associate degree or higher is ideal.
