Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Charleston, SC

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Mid shift, 5x8 hours (15:00 - 23:30); rotating weekends required.

Job Description: The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and equipment. This position requires adherence to proper sterilization techniques and standards to ensure patient safety and compliance with health regulations. The technician may also be required to float to various campuses as per facility needs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assemble and wrap surgical sets in accordance with established protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance testing of sterilization processes.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization and decontamination procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, with Level 1 Trauma experience required.
• National certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are required.
• Experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN cases is preferred.
• Valid South Carolina license is preferred, or proof of application for licensure.
