Basic Function:

• Monitor and analyze organizational financial performance, including revenues, expenditures, and operational costs
• Develop and maintain financial models and reports to support decision-making
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives
• Analyze financial results and variances, providing insights and recommendations to management
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial processes, reporting, and overall efficiency

Job Function (Duties & Responsibilities):

• Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with applicable standards
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and revenue schedules
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
• Monitor actuals against budget and forecast, identifying and explaining variances
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives and business decisions
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Build, develop, and maintain financial models to support planning and decision-making processes
• Design and produce recurring and ad-hoc financial reports for management
• Identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities and improve data visibility
• Leverage data and automation tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Partner with other departments to understand financial drivers and reporting needs
• Support cross-functional initiatives by providing financial guidance and analysis
• Evaluate existing financial processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools
• Ensure consistency and integrity of financial data across reporting platforms
• Contribute to audit and compliance-related activities as needed
• Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Senior Financial Reporting Manager
• Assist Club and Club staff in a professional manner on all Texans gamedays, LSSE Events, LOVB Volleyball Houston Events and duties within the Business operations offices

Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, many job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club's offices on a regular basis and not in a telecommuting manner.

Skills Required:

• Basic knowledge of accounting and finance and related analytics
• Working knowledge of various accounting software applications
• Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software, with an emphasis on Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment
• Possess excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines
• Display strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally
• Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information
• Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred
• High School Diploma required
• Minimum five (5) years related experience in accounting/finance environment required
