Job Title: Surgical Coordinator Job Description

The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating surgical and procedural scheduling and booking for assigned physicians. This includes patient preparation for surgical or other procedures, covering both pre- and post-operative appointments. The role involves confirming all pre-operative requirements are met and transmitting necessary pre-operative information to the appropriate surgical facility within the designated time frame. Communication with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorization for surgical or specialized procedures is also a key aspect of this position.

• Coordinate surgical/procedural scheduling and booking for assigned physicians.
• Prepare patients for surgical or other procedures, including pre- and post-operative appointments.
• Confirm pre-operative requirements and transmit information to the surgical facility.
• Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorization for procedures.
• Order special implants and necessary surgical supplies/products.
• Coordinate physician office schedules, meetings, interviews, and manage mail.
• Maintain booking and scheduling records according to protocol.
• Manage relationships with outside vendors to ensure contract compliance and support.
• Provide initial and ongoing training of surgical booking to staff.
• Adhere to compliance program policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform general office duties as assigned.

• Experience in surgical scheduling.
• Medical knowledge and patient access skills.
• Ability to schedule appointments efficiently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency in EMR, computer programs, and good typing skills.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior medical office experience.

The work environment primarily operates Monday through Friday, with shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, or alternatively from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. There are no weekend shifts required.

This is a Contract position based out of Florham Park, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a Contract position based out of Florham Park, NJ.
