Restricted Substances Specialist

The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a Restricted Substances Specialist for a prominent client of ours. This position is in North Chicago, IL 60064. Details for the position are as follows: Restricted Substances Specialist Location: North Chicago, IL Schedule: Hybrid (Monday–Friday) Assignment Length: 6 months with potential extension Pay Rate: $48–$51/hour Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Restricted Substances Specialist to support global chemical compliance and regulatory initiatives within a cross-functional manufacturing and supply chain environment. This role will focus on restricted substances data management, supplier coordination, regulatory compliance activities, and project support related to global chemical regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills, experience working in regulated industries, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze component and sub-assembly information for restricted substances impact and compliance requirements. Support implementation and ongoing management of global chemical regulations including REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Proposition 65, and related restricted substances requirements. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and third-party manufacturers to collect and maintain compliance documentation and supporting data. Organize, track, and maintain regulatory information within internal systems and databases. Support cross-functional compliance projects by monitoring timelines, deliverables, and project milestones. Assist in developing and improving processes, tools, and workflows related to restricted substances management. Communicate compliance requirements and project updates across multiple functional teams. Handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in a science, engineering, supply chain, or technical-related field. Experience in manufacturing, quality, engineering, supply chain, compliance, or regulatory environments preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize workload with minimal supervision. Experience working collaboratively across teams in a global environment. Familiarity with SAP required; ARENA experience is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred Experience Exposure to restricted substances regulations such as REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, or Proposition 65. Experience supporting compliance initiatives within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, medical device, or supply chain environments. #J-18808-Ljbffr
