Respiratory Therapist, Certified

Schedule: Full‑Time | Union About the Role As a Respiratory Therapist at Lourdes Medical Center, you will measure lung capacity, analyze blood samples with a blood gas analyzer, perform bedside PFTs, EKGs, and provide tobacco cessation education. You will deliver and evaluate patient response to therapy, monitor and communicate patient status, respond to codes, educate patients and families, evaluate respiratory policies, manage supplies, maintain equipment, participate in performance improvement, provide quality patient care, work flexible shifts, maintain reliable attendance, and perform other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Perform bedside pulmonary function tests (PFTs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and tobacco cessation education as ordered. Deliver and evaluate patient response to therapy per the plan of care. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition appropriately. Respond to codes and emergent calls for respiratory assistance. Provide rapid assessment and appropriate intervention. Educate patients and families about illness management and community resources. Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices. Stock and distribute respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintain storage areas with required levels and equipment. Cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and calibrates equipment. Participate in performance improvement and continuing education. Provide quality patient care and work flexible shifts/units as needed. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in the state of practice. BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.
