26/27 Middle School Assistant Cross Country Coach (Foreign Language Academy)

Job Title: Middle School Assistant Cross Country Coach Salary Grade: $2,000/season Department: Athletics Reports To: Athletic Director/ Building Principal Position Summary Provide leadership for the school's athletic program through the continuous development, implementation, and enhancement of the sport(s) assigned, while promoting student-athlete growth, program excellence, and alignment with district goals and expectations. What You’ll Be Doing: (Responsibilities) Coordinate specific sport with a full team in compliance with MSHSAA standards. Assist in implementing athletic standards as outlined in the MSHSAA Handbook and attend all MSHSAA required sessions. Assist in the coordination of the program. Assist in the supervision of students at practices and contests. Help provide information for transportation, facilities, officials and game management. Help organize and schedule practice sessions on a regular basis with the objective of developing the student-athlete’s greatest potential. Emphasize safety precautions and be aware of the best training and injury management procedures. Conduct team and self in an ethical manner during practices and contests, always exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship. Assist in getting the systematic return of all school equipment in accordance with the KCMSD Athletic Department Handbook. Continue professional growth through clinics and professional publications. Must successfully complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Student-athletes To Be Successful at This Job, You’ll Need To: (Minimum Qualifications) Knowledge of particular sport (philosophy & coaching) Must successfully complete the MSHSAA /NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses. A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept and working knowledge of all collegiate eligibility center regulations. Preferred Qualifications Be a full or part-time employee in the District. Employed in the school as a teacher or administrator in which the candidate applies for a position.
