Registered Dental Assistant Lead330 Dental Mobile Unit - Huntington Park, CA 90255OverviewSalary Range $34.00 - $39.00 Hourly Position Type Full TimeDescriptionRegistered Dental Assistant (RDA) Lead provides clinical leadership and operational oversight of back-office dental functions. The RDA Lead is to ensure workflow efficiency, compliance readiness, staff competency, and equipment and supply management.This position supports the dental workflows by ensuring that all dental back-office operations run consistently, safely, productively, and meets or exceeds regulatory standards and organizational expectations.Schedule:Base working hours Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with flexibility for extended hours and possible weekend hours occasionally.On-site 5-days per week, no hybrid or remote availability.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform all RDA duties within state regulations and organizational privilegingEnsure that all patients are in the dental chairs in accordance to their appointment timeEnsure highly exceptional patient experience at all times.Maintain high-efficiency chairside support to reduce provider downtime and improve visit throughputEnsure accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the dental recordReinforce patient education to improve treatment acceptance and preventative care compliance from all dental staffEnsure daily back-office operations and workflow execution are handled efficiently without gaps.Drive patient flow to meet productivity targets and minimize gaps in provider schedulesIdentify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions in real timePartner with Clinic Manager to align staffing, scheduling, and operational prioritiesTrain, onboard, and validate competencies of back-office staff to meet all NECC standards and follow all Policies and Procedures.Serve as first-line resource for clinical workflow and procedural guidanceMonitor staff performance and escalate concerns to leadershipReinforce accountability to policies, procedures, and expected standardsEnsure optimal inventory levels are maintained with zero disruption to patient careCoordinate ordering and prevent overstock or shortagesImplement standard quality and efficiency levels across operatoriesEnsure full accountability of end-to-end lab case process from packaging to delivery to ensure all cases are tracked, documented, and scheduled for follow-upCommunicate with labs to prevent delays and resolve discrepanciesEnsure timely submission and tracking of lab invoicesEnsure all dental equipment remains functional and compliantWork closely with Clinic Manager to coordinate preventive maintenance including handpieces, vacuum, compressor, and operatory systemsCoordinate repairs and minimize downtimeMaintain all required equipment logs and documentation audit-readyEnsure strict adherence to infection control standardsEnsure completion and documentation of spore testing, waterline maintenance, and required testing schedules and maintain updated dental logs.Immediately escalate and track resolution of failed tests or compliance risksMaintain readiness for internal and external audits at all timesEnsure proper distribution, tracking, and compliance of dosimeter badges and maintain all required radiation safety logs and documentationParticipate in quality improvement (QI) initiatives tied to clinical outcomes and operational performanceMaintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready environmentOther duties and responsibilities as assigned to support clinic and organizational goals by the Clinic ManagerQualificationsMinimum Requirements • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) • Excellent Communication Skills • Excellent Customer Service (Bedside Manners) • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred • Ability to work as a team player and work independently • Reliable transportation • Must be able to travel from facility to facility • This position requires 10 % travel outside the local area.Required Education/Experience and/or Licensure/Certification • Dental Assistant Certificate, Certified Dental Assistant, or higher. • High School Diploma and/or GED equivalent preferred, but not required. • Proof of completing radiation safety course • Active CA license and certification as a Registered Dental Assistant • Two (2) years minimum experience as a Registered Dental Assistant • Knowledge of NextGen and Digital x-rays, preferred • Commitment to goals and philosophy of Northeast Community Clinic • Current BLS Certification • Valid State IdentificationPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions • OSHA Category 1 – Involves exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. • The work is majority of the time non-sedentary in nature. • The employee is regularly required to communicate, frequently required to use repetitive motions, move, remain stationary, regularly push, pull and lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office/clinic setting (in some cases both settings) and to use standard office/clinic equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, read printed materials and use a computer, and communicate in person and over the telephone.
