Mainframe Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design and development of critical mainframe applications while mentoring development teams and ensuring adherence to architectural and coding standards.


Rate Range: $44/Hour to $45/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Mainframe Developer Job Responsibilities include:

• Lead the analysis, design, development, and implementation of complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mainframe developers, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
• Conduct design reviews, establish architectural standards, and drive scalable solutions for business-critical applications.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimization and tuning strategies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, QA teams, and offshore development teams to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
• Perform code reviews, support testing initiatives, and present technical solutions, risks, and project updates to senior management.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12-15 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe Application Development with proven technical leadership experience.
• Strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2, with experience in designing and developing enterprise-scale applications.
• Hands-on experience with mainframe tools such as Xpediter, Abend-AID, File Manager, ADCP, and GitHub for development, debugging, and code management.

Pay Details: $44.00 to $45.00 per hour
