Adoption Counselor - Full-Time

Adoption Counselors are responsible for guiding the public through the adoption process, as well as educating on the services BHS provides and offering them assistance on basic animal care. Job Type: Full-Time Hours: Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat 9am-5pm Salary: $15.00–$16.80 per hour Requirements Age 18+, friendly and positive ‘can-do’ attitude Must have prior customer service experience. Must have your own transportation Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, internet research, and able to handle multiple phone lines Must be able to prioritize, multi task, and work independently Must love animals! Prior animal handling, sheltering, and admin/clerical experience is a plus. Responsibilities Adoption Counselors are responsible for guiding the public through the adoption process, as well as educating on the services BHS provides and offering them assistance on basic animal care. ACs process applications, complete adoptions, and assist in the surrendering of pets and in educating the public on pet retention. ACs must be proficient in Microsoft Word, internet research, and able to handle multiple phone lines. This position requires excellent customer service skills both in person and by phone and email; and a willingness to help, educate, and facilitate a positive experience at BHS. Hours are Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sat from 9 am to 5 pm. Pay: $15/hr.
