Explore an exciting opportunity with  AHWFBs Cardiology Heart Failure Team  as we eagerly welcome a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This role will take care of heart failure patients in an inpatient setting.

What Youll Do: 

As a Heart Failure Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will collaborate closely with our skilled attending cardiologists, alongside fellow cardiology APPs, and a compassionate team of dedicated cardiology nurses and staff. Focused primarily on Advanced Heart Failure cases, this role offers an exciting avenue for participation in educational and scholarly activities, enriching our thriving academic clinical environment. 1. Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
\n
2. Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
\n
3. Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.  Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
\n
4. Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
\n
5. Opportunity to participate in basic science and clinical research projects.

The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.

The schedule is rotating days, 12 hour shifts, 7am-7pm, with some nights and weekends required.

Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred

• Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA
\n
• Minimum of two years of experience in a cardiovascular or heart failure care environment
\n
• BLS and ACLS certification required

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:

\n
• Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Masters degree or higher required
\n
• Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse  and Nurse Practitioner license
\n
• Board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
\n
• Minimum of two years of experience in a cardiovascular or heart failure care environment
\n
• BLS and ACLS certification required
\n
