Low Voltage Technician
4Front Technologies
Job Description
Job Description
We are a specialized low-voltage technology company focused on the healthcare and long-term care market . We design, install, and support electronic systems that are critical to the safety, security, and daily operation of healthcare facilities throughout Ohio.
We are looking for an experienced Low Voltage Technician with hands-on experience in low-voltage or electronic systems.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with technology, troubleshooting problems, and learning how different electronic systems work together. Our technicians don't just pull cable—they install, configure, troubleshoot, and support systems that directly impact the safety of residents and the staff who care for them.
WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:
Our technicians work with a variety of electronic systems, including:
- Access Control – card readers, proximity systems, electronic door hardware, delayed egress, and related equipment
- Emergency Call / Nurse Call Systems
- Wander Prevention / Elopement Systems
- CCTV / IP Camera Systems
- Network & Wi-Fi Infrastructure
- Environmental Monitoring – temperature, humidity, moisture, contact and high voltage monitoring
- Resident & Asset Tracking Systems
- Structured Cabling - Data and Low Voltage Controls
- Common Equipment - Low-voltage power supplies, relays, RF sensors, Wireless TX and RX, RS232, RS485 2 wire
Because our work is specialized, troubleshooting and understanding how a system operates is just as important as the installation itself.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling and electronic equipment
- Install and service access control systems and electronic door hardware
- Install emergency call and resident safety systems
- Install IP cameras, network equipment, and data cabling
- Mount and connect electronic equipment, power supplies, sensors, and control devices
- Troubleshoot DC circuits, relays, switches, sensors, and electronic equipment
- Read wiring diagrams, schematics, floor plans, and installation drawings
- Program and configure equipment as required
- Test completed systems and assist with commissioning
- Train customers on the operation of installed systems
- Diagnose problems in existing systems and determine the appropriate solution
- Maintain clean, professional work areas
- Communicate professionally with facility administrators, maintenance personnel, and other healthcare staff
- Complete service documentation and installation records
- Travel to healthcare facilities throughout Ohio

- Understands basic AC/DC electrical concepts
- Understands how relays and basic control circuits operate
- Can use a multimeter and basic hand tools
- Can read and follow wiring diagrams
- Is mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools
- Can troubleshoot a problem instead of simply replacing components
- Is comfortable working in attics, ceilings, mechanical spaces, and occupied buildings
- Can work independently once trained
- Takes pride in neat, professional workmanship
- Is dependable and willing to learn
- Has a valid driver's license
HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE IS A PLUS
Our work takes place primarily in assisted living, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and other healthcare environments . 4Front works with facilities ranging from smaller rehabilitation centers to large retirement campuses.
Technicians must understand that they are working in an environment where the equipment we install can be directly related to resident safety and the operation of the facility .

THIS IS MORE THAN A CABLE-INSTALLATION JOB
You will have the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of healthcare technology and electronic life-safety systems.
You will learn how systems communicate with one another, how electronic doors and sensors operate, how emergency call systems function, how resident monitoring systems work, and how to troubleshoot the equipment when something isn't working correctly.
If you enjoy figuring out how things work, this is the type of job where that skill matters.
