Labor and Employment Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a dynamic Labor and Employment Associate to join its Detroit office. The ideal candidate will be a 3rd-4th year associate with experience in wage and hour class action litigation, union negotiations, and OSHA matters. Duties Handle wage and hour class action litigation. Engage in union negotiations and provide advice and counseling. Manage OSHA matters and EEOC charges. Conduct single plaintiff employment litigation. Draft pleadings, motions, and other court filings. Participate in trial preparation and settlement conferences. Requirements 3rd-4th year associate experience. Strong legal writing and research skills. Experience with discovery and motion practice. Ability to thrive in a busy, collegial environment. Demonstrated client relationship and business development skills. Education JD from an ABA-approved law school. Certifications Active member of the Michigan Bar in good standing. Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Exceptional work ethic and positive attitude. Experience in both state and federal courts.
