Family Law Attorney

We are seeking an Associate Attorney who is passionate about helping clients navigate family law matters and is excited to manage litigation, develop case strategies, work closely with paralegals, and contribute to a supportive and well-organized team. To learn more, visit the Brown Family Law website: Hybrid work opportunities after training and demonstrating strong client management Unlimited PTO with management approval Medical insurance with 85% of premiums covered by the firm Dental and vision insurance with 100% of premiums covered by the firm 401(k) with up to a 4% employer match Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to billed and collected fees Annual case origination bonuses $50 bonus for each qualifying five-star review Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of family law matters from initial strategy through resolution Represent clients in litigation, hearings, negotiations, and other court proceedings Develop case strategies based on applicable law, case facts, and client objectives Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and other legal documents Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and advocacy Communicate promptly and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other relevant parties Prepare clients for hearings, negotiations, mediation, and other stages of their cases Collaborate with paralegals to keep cases organized, meet deadlines, and provide excellent client service Conduct regular meetings with your paralegal to review case progress, priorities, and upcoming deadlines Record billable time in real time and consistently meet the firm's annual billable-hour requirement Follow established workflows, maintain organized case files, and proactively address potential issues Contribute to a positive team environment by treating colleagues well and finding ways to make the team's work more efficient Requirements: 2+ years of litigation experience and/or 2+ years of experience as a Public Defender, Criminal Defense Attorney, or Legal Aid Attorney Commitment to building a career in family law Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills Excellent organization, attention to detail, and deadline management Ability to manage responsibilities independently and follow established systems Commitment to recording billable time in real time and meeting the approximately 1,600-hour annual billable requirement Strong communication skills and a commitment to responsive client service Collaborative mindset and a demonstrated ability to treat paralegals and colleagues with respect Consistent, dependable work habits and strong follow-through Experience with Clio or willingness to learn the firm's case management software Bonus Experience: Family Law experience Background in finance or accounting Please note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and is not representative of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
