Pharmacist In Charge (PIC)

Job Description

The Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) oversees the pharmacy's safe and effective operation, ensuring medication management and regulatory compliance. This role involves supervising a small team while maintaining quality assurance, inventory control, and accurate prescription verification. The PIC ensures adherence to safety protocols and manages reporting and documentation responsibilities, using specific pharmacy management software tools. Interaction with regulatory authorities is infrequent, and direct patient counseling is minimal. Prefered experience in compounding.

Responsibilities

Manage medication storage, dispensing, and handling processes
Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards
Supervise and support a small team of 1-3 pharmacy tech staff
Maintain accurate inventory control and stock levels
Verify prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness
Implement quality assurance and safety monitoring protocols
Prepare and maintain regulatory reports and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmacy practice
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
Experience with medication dispensing
