Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A hospital-based pharmacist role is available for an immediate start at a 20-bed suburban medical center in Tucson, AZ. This 13-week contract position offers daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with an opportunity for discussions about a possible extension or transition to longer-term placement.

Responsibilities include the precise and safe distribution of pharmaceuticals to patients across all age groups, hospital employees, and designated areas. The pharmacist will ensure compliance with federal, state, and DEA regulations, as well as hospital policies and The Joint Commission standards. Key duties involve collaborating with physicians regarding drug therapies and dosing, educating nursing staff, patients, and physicians about medications, and leading medication safety initiatives. Additional tasks include managing patient medication profiles, monitoring and reporting adverse drug reactions, preparing IV admixtures and nutritional supplements, and maintaining narcotic accountability.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high-acuity acute care hospital setting
• Experience with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) patients
• Familiarity with cardiac cases, including management of Impella and ECMO devices
• Strong understanding of medication safety and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary collaboration

Schedule:

• Day shifts, Monday to Friday
