Tasks of Position (Responsibilities) Reporting for assigned shifts on time, communicating clearly, and demonstrating suitable physical abilities to perform assigned tasks and duties, while providing excellent service and leadership. Promoting sales through active discussions with guests, offering product recommendations, and discussing current promotions and service information. Performing all work in compliance with laws, policies, and confidentiality regulations, and reporting any discrepancies to the Store Manager or appropriate personnel. Identifying and supporting the development of associates who show promise or interest in increased responsibility. Practicing Food Safety – Active managerial control for all food handling departments, ensuring staff are properly trained and following food safety practices. Guiding front-end and perimeter department operations by supervising and working as a cashier when a higher manager is absent. Closing the store in the evening in the absence of the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or higher-level managers. Answering guest complaints or inquiries. Empowering associates to use “This One's On Us” cards to deliver exceptional service. Securing the store and performing as Store Manager in the absence of the Store Manager or the Assistant Store Manager. Ensuring compliance with established security, sales, and record‑keeping procedures. Assisting in grocery paperwork, merchandising, stocking, ordering, inventory preparation, and overall cash management procedures. Participating actively in the store's accident reduction plan: monitoring slip/trip hazards, cleaning spills, recognizing safety features of machinery, PPE usage, and evacuation plans. Supervisory Responsibilities Assisting in managing associates throughout the store in the absence of higher managers, overseeing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Performing supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding, disciplining, and resolving complaints. Displaying excellent leadership and communication skills when addressing associate matters. Understanding and enforcing company policies. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED; or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination. Language Skills: Reads, interprets, and writes professional documents; presents information and responds to groups of managers, clients, and guests; communicates effectively and pleasantly with all guests, vendors, and associates. Mathematical Skills: Ability to manage a profitable operation using fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, and using typical US units. Reasoning Ability: Applies common sense to carry out instructions and solve practical problems with limited standardization. Other Qualifications: Must be at minimum 21 years old. Certificates and Licenses: First Aid Certification – provided by Yoke's. Valid Driver's License or State ID Card. Valid Food Handler's Card. Physical Demands & Safety Expectations Stands for prolonged periods; walks; uses hands, fingers, arms; climbs; balances; stoops; kneels; crouches; lifts up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs. Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and ability to adjust focus. Must report accidents within 24 hours. Work Environment Work may include occasional exposure to outside weather conditions. Noise level is usually moderate. All associates must practice safety standards and report accidents.
